CopyCamp 2014
On November 6-7, the 3rd International CopyCamp Conference took place in Kino Praha in Warsaw.

This year, one of the keynotes speakers was Cory Doctorow, a London-based journalist and blogger (co-editor of the blog Boing Boing), winner of the Campbell Award for the best novel and the Prometheus Award for Little Brother, a novel published in Polish in 2009, and again in 2013 for Pirate Cinema (2012); author of science-fiction novels such as awarded Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom (2004), Markers (2009) or For the Win (2010), short stories such as Hugo nominated I, Row-boat (2006) and short story collections: A Place So Foreign and Eight More (2004), Overclocked: Stories of the Future Present (2007) or With a Little Help (2010); repeatedly nominated for Hugo and Nebula Awards.
We were also pleased to have Birgitta Jónsdóttir – a poetician and a member of the Althing, the Icelandic parliament – as a keynote speaker of the conference. As a politician, she is occupied with the issues related with freedom of information, freedom of speech and human rights. Active in the internet. Creator of the first Icelandic online gallery, participant of several international projects such as Poets Against War, Dialogue among Nations through Poetry or Poets for Human Rights. Editor and publisher of two anthologies: The World Healing Book and The Book of Hope including writings of Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Rity Dove, Dalai Lama, Rabbi Michael Lerner, John Kinsella or Sigur Rós. Activitst involved with Beyond Borders Press, Radical Creations, WikiLeaks and member of the International Network of Parliamentarians on Tibet (INPaT). Spokesperson for the Icelandic Modern Media Initiative.

Book promotion
At the third edition of the International CopyCamp Conference, the Modern Poland Foundation presented a newly published collection of essays by Cory Doctorow in Polish. The publication is available on the Prawo Kultury website.

Workshops
This year, we prepared a number of workshops where we had an occasion to learn, discuss and exercise practical skills associated with copyright issues. We are presenting some of the conclusions drawn from this year’s workshops conducted by specialists in the field.
